The Mon Valley Alliance Foundation recently awarded The Mon Valley Rowing Club a $500 grant to assist with outreach initiatives to encourage rowing as an extra-curricular activity for students in the Mon Valley Region.

The Mon Valley Rowing Club, a local non-profit organization based in Belle Vernon, PA, operates a Junior Rowing Program for students in grades 8 through 12 from schools throughout the Mon Valley. Students are matched with an adult leader in a mentoring relationship as they work to build a strong work ethic, gain big picture exposure, make college connections and experience relational growth. The organization offers need-based scholarships to any youth who wants to participate and strives to help them receive scholarship opportunities for higher education.
