Mid Mon Valley Regional Enterprise Zone Project Included in Governor Josh Shapiro’s Community Revitalization Announcement

Monongahela, PA, November 17th, 2023 - The Mon Valley Alliance, a Certified Economic Development Organization, has received notification that a project within the Mid Mon Valley Regional Enterprise Zone has been awarded a $500,000 tax credit through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Department of Community & Economic Development’s Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) recently announced by Governor Josh Shapiro.

The Alliance was able to provide direct assistance to Four Points Brewery & Brew Pub that has been awarded $500,000 in tax credits that will leverage an additional $3 million dollars of private investment within the Zone and support an estimated 45 new jobs.

“We would like to thank Governor Josh Shapiro and his administration for their support of this project in the Mid Mon Valley Regional Enterprise Zone”, said Jamie Colecchi, CEO of the Alliance. “The Four Points Brewery & Brew Pub project will create over $3 Million of private investment and demonstrate that redeveloping blighted property along the riverfront is not only a good investment in Monongahela, but also a good investment in any of the 34 communities in the Mid Mon Valley.”

The awards announced today are a result of significant private investment leading to the rehabilitating, expanding, or improving of buildings or land and creating or retaining family sustaining jobs in the Commonwealth. Today’s announcement of the Four Points Brewery  & Brew Pub has added to the continued success of the Mid Mon Valley Regional Enterprise Zone, now resulting in $3.675M tax credit awards leading to over $30M private investment and supporting nearly 700 jobs since 2020.

“Today’s announcement by Governor Shapiro represents the continued path forward of the Mid Mon Valley and the commitment of the business community to invest in their operations, creating and retaining employment opportunities and leading the way for development”, said Jamie Colecchi, CEO of the Alliance.
