The Mon Valley Alliance Foundation recently awarded the Borough of Dunlevy a Community Development Grant of $9,603.00 for competition of the new Walnut Street Extension/Rail Crossing and associated resurfacing of adjoining streets within the Borough.

The project was initiated in 2012 after an Ingress/Egress Study by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation that deemed current access points into Dunlevy from State Route 88 were below public safety requirements.  The Borough was able to secure funding from the Department of Housing & Urban Development Community Development Block Grant Program, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Washington County Local Share Account, and the Borough of Dunlevy.

“We are pleased to be able to continue our partnership with the Borough of Dunlevy to support this critical infrastructure project providing safe access for the residents, businesses and visitors to the Borough” said Ben Brown, CEO of the Mon Valley Alliance Foundation.

The Mon Valley Alliance Foundation Community Development grant program serves to assist local municipalities with planning, administration and funding for critical public benefit projects.
